Manistee County Library System established 1905 as a city library, merged in 1972 to become a county wide Library system. Who we are: The Manistee County Library is a 6 branch public library system serving all of Michigan’s Manistee County. The main library is located in Manistee at 95 Maple Street. Branch locations can be found in Arcadia, Bear Lake, Kaleva, Onekama and Wellston. The library system’s materials collection has 99,985 items including books, audiobooks, magazines, movies, music and video games. MCL serves a population of 24,640 residents and circulates over 168,000 items per year.
