Adams Street Library is BPL’s 60th and first new branch built since 1983. The library serves all New Yorkers and visitors but especially the Vinegar Hill, DUMBO and Farragut communities. The new library is located on the ground floor of a former factory building at 9 Adams St, fronting Brooklyn Bridge Park with stunning views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and downtown Manhattan. Adams Street Library offers 6,565 square feet of space, with library materials, meeting rooms, facilities and programming areas for children, teens and adults. The library's design and its programming were shaped by comprehensive community feedback gathered over several months.
