About
Sag Harbor’s John Jermain Library was commissioned and built in 1910 by Margaret Olivia Slocum Sage in memory of her grandfather, Major John Jermain, as a gift to the people of Sag Harbor. It was named a contributing structure to the Sag Harbor Historic District in 1973; a light-filled fully-accessible addition, which doubled the space of the building, opened in 2016. The library, a member of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System, provides free access to books, e-books, audiobooks, media, local history materials, museum passes, WiFi and public computers, as well as a wide range of cultural programming including storytimes, art exhibits, language classes, book clubs, movies and concerts.
