About
Named in honor of Hamilton historian and attorney George C. Cummins (1903-1980), the Cummins Local History Room is located on the fourth floor of the Hamilton Lane Library. George C. Cummins is best known for authoring “Remember When” in the Hamilton Journal-News, which ran from the 1950s to the 1970s, as well as his association with the Lane Public Library and Butler County Historical Society. Through working on his newspaper column, Cummins amassed a large collection of photographs which were donated by his family to the Lane Public Library upon the creation of the Cummins Room in 1983. Along with the Cummins Photos, the Cummins Room also holds a collection of local books, directories, yearbooks, maps, newspapers, and other resources.
