The mission of the Antlers Public Library is to be the place where everyone gathers for learning, for leisure, and for life. In our eyes, “providing free public library service” is two-fold: 1. The Library as a Quality Resource a. Develop a dynamic collection responsive to patron needs. b. Support literacy training. c. Focus on convenience and patron service. d. Maintain quality access to technology. 2. The Library as a Community Anchor Institution a. Help create a sense of community. b. Highlight Choctaw heritage and Antlers as the “Deer Capital of the World.” c. Maintain library as a safe place for all. d. Create an environment that encourages social interaction.
