Texas A&M University-Kingsville Library opened its doors in J.R. Manning Hall in 1925. In 1951 the Library moved to College Hall. The final move occurred in September 1968 to the current James C. Jernigan Library. The library is named after Dr. Jernigan who served Texas A&I University as Professor, Dean, and President, as well as serving as the Chancellor of the University System of South Texas Materials available include government documents, audiovisual materials, over one million separate bibliographic items, and access to over 40,000 periodical titles. The library also houses the Graduation Pathways Success Center, Pathways Academic Assistance Center, the Writing Center, the Center for Academic Technology, and the D.E.C. Makerspace.
