The Kitty King Powell Library and Study Center, located on the second floor of the Lora Jean Kilroy Visitor and Education Center at Bayou Bend, comprises more than 9,000 volumes about American decorative arts, material culture, art, and the Hogg Family Collection of books, with a helpful staff to assist users in finding art information. Although Powell is open free of charge to all individuals interested in art research, it is not part of the Houston Public Library.
