The Virginia Baptist Historical Society (VBHS) is the oldest state Baptist historical organization in the U.S. and houses one of the oldest and largest collections of its kind the world. As a repository, its archives, library, art and artifacts reflect the history of Virginia Baptists from their beginnings (1715) to the present. Through its historic relationships, especially with the churches and agencies of the Baptist General Association of Virginia (1823), the Society has accrued unparalleled holdings across its approximately 150-year role in the field.
